Highlights
Foundational legislation for the implementation of Bangladesh's cyber security strategy and policy: 1. Creates Digital Security Agency to oversee and enforce provisions in the Act; 2. Outlines role of National CERT in responding to and mitigating cyber incidents; 3. Creates Digital Forensic Lab; 4. Creates a National Digital Security Council; and 5. Criminalizes a wide array of cyber activities, including hacking, identity fraud, and damaging infrastructure, as well as influencing activities such as disseminating propaganda or offensive material.
