Cyber Security Trends Report Africa by Symantec

About
Dated Nov 2016 | Some but not all African countries have a report on it, covering National Cyber Security Strategy and key agencies / organisations tasked with tackling cybersecurity | Nigeria's report is p 81 / 96. (Kenya p73 Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania nil report)

Key findings
Nigeria: Overall national cybersecurity efforts are led by the National Security Adviser | The primary agencies charged with protecting against cyber crime, are the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practice and other related offences Commission (ICPC), State Security Service (SSS), and the Nigerian Police all play prominent roles in the fight against the new trend of social vice | The main challenges the government of Nigeria facing is the general lack of awareness of cybersecurity measures and the risks associated with cyber crime. Nigeria does not yet have a national cybersecurity awareness program currently, but is working on the plans for one. The government works with the private sector on cybersecurity issues in Nigeria because the economy is driven by the private sector. Nigeria has fruitful relations with international communities when managing and responding to cyber threats, and promotes confidence building measures (CBM) and international cooperation in cyberspace by exchanging information on cyber incidents and best practices for cybersecurity.
