Most banks were hacked resulting in loss on accounts (Nov 19)

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reported most all Pakistani banks were hacked resulting in data from over 8000 account holders in around 10 banks sold on the dark web.

Key findings
FIA wrote to all banks and called a meeting of all the banks' heads of security with a view to look into ways the security of infrastructure of banks can be bolstered. It wasn't immediately clear when the security breach took place. According to Shoaib more than 100 cases are being investigated. Shoaib said the agency had arrested many gangs involved in cyber crimes. Directives issues to all banks to ensure that security measures on all tech info system - including those related to card operations , are continuously updated to meet future challenges, ensure real-time monitoring of card operations related systems and transactions and immediately coordinate with all integrated payments schemed, switch operators and Media service providers.
